I really enjoyed this book. It did take me a while to get through the beginning because there wasn't action and it was just setting up the story. That part I did find a little boring. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I like the way the author describes the details, and I also really like the way he writes. Something that I noticed about this book was that there wasn't a lot of exclamatory writing. My favorite part of the book was probably the ending, where Bruno expressed his feelings to Shmuel right before they died. I think that the ending was very powerful, and a good way to end the story because given the circumstances of what happened with the holocaust this scenario could have had the chance of happening. I also like the topic of the story. The Holocaust has always been interesting to me, and I enjoyed reading the book through Bruno's perspective.
